I have a long history of dabbling in journalism, magazine & book editing, visual art & creative writing.

My most recent major project was co-writing

Burdock & Co: Poetic Recipes Inspired by Ocean, Land & Air with the Michelin starred chef Andrea Carlson.

I studied creative writing at the University of Victoria in the early 90s.
Since then I have published an assortment of poetry, fiction, interviews, profiles & a cookbook or two. 
I write about the arts, women, the open question of spirituality, the natural world & food.

From 1999-2005 I was the editor of ascent magazine, the ahead-of-its-time, award-winning yoga magazine.

In 2006, I published an anthology of the best of ascent magazine, Inspired Lives.

2006-2016 I was the editor & creative director for timeless books, a micro-publisher specializing in spiritual practice & philosophy.

I now do freelance editing, with a focus on creative non-fiction.

I am a cook, professional & not ... 

 

& I tend to an organic orchard & garden ...

& I was a caregiver to my mother in her last years with dementia ...
